this is how Hadley spent Christmas morning

Christmas was lots of fun this year. And having Hadley made it all that better, even though she has no idea what went on and was asleep through most of it, it was fun to have her there with the family. We got to Logan on Christmas eve and spent that night and Christmas morning with my family. Hadley's grandpa loves her just a little bit,,, he was holding her every chance he got and was mad when we took her away from him and was even willing to take a night shift position so Ben and i could get some sleep...Jena, Derek, and Kamdyn came up this year and it was so much fun. I love Kamdyn she has the cutest little voice and just talks all day long. We spent Christmas with Ben's family where we ate to much food and played lots of Mario cart and Guitar hero.. and where we almost didn't make it back to Smithfield because of all the snow.. The snow which made it impossible to get back down to SLC so Ben could go to work the next day, that was Ben's little Christmas miracle. So we ended up staying in Logan from Wednesday to Sunday,,, that was a little to long for me. We had 2 nights of Hadley staying up, Christmas eve she was up till 4 and Christmas night she was up till 5:30 but after that she was great.. we loved being up there and spending it with our families... we have the best family ever!!!!

1 month old already

I can't believe my little Hadley is already 1 month old!! how time flies. Ben says it feels like it's been a month but for me it feels like we just brought her home from the hospital.. She is getting so big and starting to make faces and she loves to sit with her daddy and watch him talk to her... she is so beautiful and i can't imagine our lives with out her...

Where did my good girl go

So Hadley has been a really good baby since she came into the world. she sleeps well and eats well and then when she is awake she is a very content baby, all she wants to do is look around and be held and talked to.

well last night someone took my sweet little baby and gave me one that didn't want to sleep... Hadley is usually up till 12 or 1 so last night at 12 i fed her and then rocked her to get her to fall asleep, she fell asleep and i put her to bed. 10 minutes later she woke up, after an hour of this little game i was pretty tired and handed her off to Ben to get her to sleep. At 2 this morning i woke up to her crying, Ben was having the same luck as me. so i took her and yeah for me she fell right to sleep... but once again the minute i laid her down she woke right back up.. this went on till 4 this morning and then she finally was to tired to wake back up...

how i love my daughter but last night i could have given her away!!!! and tonight's not looking good either,,,,, Wish me luck

So we've had a pretty uneventful couple of weeks,... Hadley and i have been hanging out at home while Ben is at work and when Ben comes home we have been watching lots of movies and hanging out as a family... Friday night we went with the Ramey's to the festival of tree's, we had a really good time looking at all the cool trees but there was WAY to many people but still fun. I think that we might need to make it a tradition and go every year.,,, I finally got our tree up and decorated after 5 days... 9 feet is a little intimidating when its all put together,,,, And we finally got some snow at our house on Monday which really made it seem like Christmas time but to bad for us it melted by that night... Hadley had her first doc apt. and is doing great, she's growing and gaining weight..


Finally i have to send a big thank you to Jena and my Aunt Cokie for getting my most favorite blanket finished and in my hands,,, i love it!!!! it turned out better then i thought it would.... so thank you

Best Daddy ever!!!!

I have to say that Hadley lucked out when she got Ben for a dad.... He loves her so much and can't get enough of her! no matter what time it is, what he's doing, or what he needs to do if she's around he has to hold her.. If i have her he wants to take her from me and if she's not being held well that's no good,,, he has to pick her up.. she loves to hear his voice all ready and when she does she calms down or looks around to find him ( yes i know she can't really see him yet but she tries) i love him so much and am thankful that i have him here to help raise her.... we are the luckiest girls in the world!!!!

Well we are finally home and VERY happy about it... Hadley has been doing great and seems to love being home as much as Ben and I do... We love her so much and are so glad she has come to our little family... My mom has been so nice to volunteer to stay with us for a few days to help out.. so here are a few pictures of our little princess

Hey all, this is Kara's sister Lisa here, letting you all know that a baby GIRL was BORN this morning around 7:15 a.m. weighing 7 lbs 4 oz. (i don't remember how long she is- sorry!!!!) She came VERY fast, and upon arrival, ruptured her mama's cervix in 3 places!!!!! yeah- the pain!!!! Kara's doing great, Ben's doing great, and..................

Oh the Joy's of pregnancy

Yesterday morning i woke up to two things... number one-- Ben was gone for work already, there has not been a day since he started this job that i haven't woke up when either his alarm went off, he got in the shower, or when he leaves. But yesterday i rolled over and he was gone, then i looked at the clock (8:00) and thought how nice it was but i wanted to go back to sleep,- having no job is boring-- after 20 minutes or so i couldn't fall back to sleep and number two- i noticed my VERY active child wasn't being so active but shrugged it off and got up to go eat breakfast... as i sat and ate and watched a little news she still wasn't moving- this is not normal-- she is ALWAYS moving.. so i waited a little while longer, still no movement and so i drank a little pop to see if that would wake her up.... after an hour or so i started to get really scared so i called my doc and asked her what she thought,,, come on down she told me... oh yeah on all days, Ben was suppose to be going to Logan for court but instead he came home and went to the hospital with me.. we got there and got me all hooked up... the nurse said she looked great strong heart beat with lots of spikes and very receptive to my movements and pushes on my stomach but they wanted to monitor me for a half an hour anyways YEAH for me. the doc told her since i was 38 weeks and having contractions (which i had been having for 4 days) that she should check me... i was dilated to a 3 and 90% effaced but my contractions weren't strong enough to make it worth me staying there... so i have been home now for 2 days having painful contractions but not painful enough to help my child be born....

oh i LOVE being pregnant...

I have the greatest friends!!! We spent Saturday shopping at Tai Pan and eating at Red Robin--- or should i say trying to eat--- stupid waitress!!! Holly, Aubrey, Becca, Brynne, and myself met up at the clearfield Tai Pan for a little Christmas shopping.. Oh if we all had unlimited money the damage we could have done, but we all came away with some good stuff. Then we headed to Red Robin and Britt and Ashley and Ashley cute baby Gavin met up with us for some lunch.. what a fun day with my friends,,, to those who missed it we missed you and we will see you next time hopefully... I love you guys, thanks so much for making the trek down from Logan and up form Orem so we could all hang out. We need to do this more often

I have the Best husband ever!!!

So my birthday was a few weeks ago and it was a pretty low key day. Ben worked and i sat at home, that night we went to dinner with Ben's uncle and Aunt from st. George and then we headed to st. George our selves for the weekend. Ben had been asking me what i wanted for my birthday and i told him everything i wanted was to expensive --(couch, TV, bedroom set, or the band that goes with my wedding ring)-- so i said that if we could stay in a hotel one night while we were in st. George and go to dinner with all my family that i would be happy.. So i got the dinner with all my family-- all 20 of us that came-- thanks again family of St. George i LOVE you all... and we stayed in a hotel the last night we were there so i was happy and not expecting anything else at all...

surprise surprise Ben tells me yesterday that i have to be home because he's expecting a delivery. I ask what it was he told me my birthday present that came later then he thought it would... i had no clue what it could be,,,, around 1:30 we get a knock on the door and what was it that they brought me.......

a brand new 46" TV... there were no words... all i could say was you didn't buy that and ben just laughed... i really do have the best husband ever and i wouldn't trade him for anything in the world..... thanks Babe.....

here we are last weekend... 36 weeks pregnant and ready for it to be done.. i know Ben's ready to have the old me back too!!!!!

this past Thursday Ben was sworn in and is now a member of the Utah Bar and can now practice law officially!! Yeah... They have this program you have to go to where you say an oath and sign a roll and everything (so official) So we headed over the Salt Palace but ended up being late because we couldn't park anywhere and with downtown construction you can't turn around anywhere, so i ended up having to drop Ben off so he could get in right as it was starting and i had to go find a parking spot. Thanks heavens my mother in law came down and saved me a seat or i wouldn't have seen anything. they didn't even have enough seats for all the lawyers that were getting sworn in. Ben got lucky and some friends had saved him a seat and my mother in law was only a row lower then them so we got a good look at Ben when they called the wrong name for him and everything else... it was fun to see even if Ben thought it was dumb we came and it was a fun day of no work, shopping, and eating out after with Ben's mom. We even found a dresser for the child which made me very happy...

And Another Baby Shower

This past weekend we headed up to Logan once again and had my family baby shower... I have the greatest mom and sisters to come up and throw the shower... and i have the greatest in laws, they are always there for whatever.. I headed up Friday afternoon with Lisa and the kids and then hung out with my family and went shopping for the makings of Ben's daddy diaper pail kit..-lots of fun- then we had pizza and Ben finally made it up. We, well i should say my mom made her famous and my FAVORITE pumpkin cookies and her mini cheese cake things. Saturday Ben headed to Preston to hang out with his brother and we set up and got ready for the shower..the shower was a lot of fun and i got lots of cute stuff.. after the shower i went over to Melissa Johnston's, she is one of my favorite ladies!! I watched her kids for like 4 years and she is the best bow maker ever so i took a list over to get some bows made... Well she made me lots and i spent lots of money but they will be cute., Conli informed Lisa and Brent that since we still aren't set on a name that she was going to call the baby- baby Emily- till she got here. All of my family are waiting on us to decide on a name and sorry to say they'll probably have to wait till she gets here for her dad to OK one... Sunday we spent the day in Idaho with Ben's mom and then headed home because we both had to work Monday.. It's was a good weekend--long-- but good.. thanks again to my family for all they did.. And Casi we missed you and wished you could of come..

Yesterday after i got home from work i decided that i needed to start trying to get everything organized in the babies room... well that's a little easier said then done, we haven't got her dresser yet so i don't really have anywhere to put anything. So instead i just went through all the presents and put all her bathroom stuff away and made a list of all the stuff we still need.. wow we have a lot thanks to Jena and Lisa !!! thanks for having girls before me and then letting me barrow all your cute stuff..

Bestest Friend Baby Shower

my Bestest friend Holly was nice enough to host a baby shower for me this past weekend, even though it was conference.. She went all out with pink decor and yummy food and her husband Rusty was even so nice to get me a "comfy" chair to sit on. Oh how i love her and had so much fun and got tons of cute stuff..... Thanks to all my friends that came, you are all the best. (Can't wait for Tai Pan!!!!) so there aren't tons of pictures, i forgot my camera but thanks to Holly for saving the day and remembering to have hers around. i have the best friends, new and old and was sad for those of you that couldn't come-sorry your kids were sick Ashley...- sorry to those of you that missed getting your pictures taken,, i know your as sad as i am
